Before hiring a Wix designer or developer, agree what the site needs to do, which pages are included and who supplies the content. Ask each vendor to explain its proposal against those requirements.
Define the pages and content
List the services or products to present, the questions visitors need answered and the actions they should be able to take. Confirm who writes the copy, supplies images and approves each page.
Ask how the build will work
- Which features will use Wix tools, and which need custom work?
- How are mobile layouts, navigation and forms checked?
- Who plans search visibility, page URLs and tracking?
- How many design concepts and revision rounds are included?
Agree responsibilities and reviews
The proposal should name the people responsible for design, development, content and SEO. Agree review dates, how feedback is collected and how changes outside the original brief are priced.
Plan the handover and support
Confirm account access, site and content ownership, any training, and the changes your team can make after launch. Ask which custom features need ongoing support and what that support costs.
Compare vendors using their proposed work, examples, responsibilities, review process and handover terms. Record those details in the agreement before the build starts.
